50 Temporary Jobs (Internships) Through a Special Program to Develop Cashew Crops in the Country. Sokoine University of Agriculture ( SUA ) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and the Cashew Board (CBT) is implementing the Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT-Corosho) youth engagement program in agriculture. In the BBT-Cashew Nut program, SUA-MoA-CBT has prepared a plan to temporarily recruit through one-year internships 50 Agricultural Extension Officers and Assistant Extension Officers for a special program to develop the cashew nut crop in the country. The plan will be implemented in the 2025/2026 agricultural season in preparation for raw cashew nut production. This program will be implemented in the Mtwara, Lindi, Ruvuma (Tunduru) and Coast regions. As part of the strategy to strengthen extension services in the country , the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with SUA and other agricultural stakeholders in implementing this special extension services program through young graduates in agricultural fields (BBT Agricultural Extension Entrepreneurship Scheme- BBT AEES). Through BBT-AEES, fifty (50) positions are required to be filled by graduates with appropriate qualifications in agricultural fields to provide extension services in the Cashew crop through a temporary employment (internship) procedure as follows:-

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

Must have graduated with a Diploma in the field of Agricultural Science (Agriculture General), Agronomy (Agronomy), Horticulture (Horticulture) or Crop Production (Crop Production) from a Government-recognized University. Must not have been employed or dismissed from public service. You have never been convicted of any criminal offense. Be willing to work in various rural areas. Be able to work well without supervision. Be willing to work on a temporary contract and be paid a monthly allowance as specified in the contract. Be prepared to sign a contract agreement with performance criteria for the relevant season. Work experience in cashew farming is an added advantage.
